Why Clubs Put the Badge on Their Cuffs

Football at grassroots level runs on people who never appear in the match report. The volunteer who drives the minibus, the physio with the magic sponge, the chairman who unlocks the gates at eight on a Sunday morning. When the season ends and the club gathers for its presentation night, most of those people are in shirts and jackets for the only time all year. How the Pricing Works for a Club Order

Buying for one person is simple: a single pair is £40 with shipping included, and the same £40 per pair applies if you order two, three or four. Once the basket holds five or more pairs in total, every pair drops to £15, and the order carries one £5 shipping charge however many pairs are inside.

Some worked examples for typical club orders:

• Five pairs for the committee: 5 × £15 = £75, plus £5 shipping, making £80 altogether.
• Ten pairs, split between committee and award winners: 10 × £15 = £150, plus £5, making £155.
• Twenty pairs for the first-team squad: 20 × £15 = £300, plus £5, making £305.
• Fifty pairs for a centenary dinner covering players, officials and past chairmen: 50 × £15 = £750, plus £5, making £755.

The five pairs can be made up of any combination of designs. Three pairs of the plain badge and two named award pairs count as five, and so do five pairs that are all different. The flat £15 applies at every quantity from five upwards, so the treasurer can work out the cost with a calculator before the committee meeting.

Design Ideas Beyond the Plain Crest

The plain badge on a background in your home colour is the classic choice, and for a committee set it's hard to beat. For awards and special occasions, build the extra detail into one combined image so it prints on both cufflinks of the pair. Some ideas that work on a small square:

• Badge with the season. The crest with "2025/26" underneath is a neat way to date an award.
• Award titles. "Players' Player", "Top Scorer" or "Clubman of the Year" set in a clear font beneath a smaller badge.
• Promotion or cup wins. The crest with "Champions" or the name of the cup, ordered for everyone in the squad that won it.
• Anniversary designs. The crest with the founding year and the anniversary year, for a club celebrating fifty, seventy-five or a hundred years.
• The ground itself. A photo of the stand, the turnstile or the old clubhouse, for a chairman who oversaw years of work on the site.

Remember that each pair carries one image on both cufflinks. If you want a different design for different people, that's simply a different pair in the basket, and it still counts towards the five.

Getting the Badge Print-Ready

The best results come from the cleanest file the club owns. Kit suppliers, the printers who made your banners and whoever built the club website usually hold a high-resolution version, often as a PNG or a vector file that can be exported to an image. That will print far more crisply than a screenshot of your social media profile picture, which has usually been compressed several times over.

Round and shield-shaped crests sit on a square background, so choose a colour that suits the badge. It's also worth ordering a couple of spare pairs of the plain badge design. Someone always turns out to have been forgotten, and a spare pair in a box is a far better answer than a promise to sort something out next season.

A Note on Club Badges

The badge belongs to the club, so whoever places the order should be doing so on the club's behalf or with its agreement. If your crest includes a sponsor's logo, or you'd like to use a league or county FA mark, check you have permission first. Any artwork we can't reproduce lawfully may be turned down, but for a club ordering its own crest for its own people, that's rarely an issue.
